The Provincial Government provides funds to support the hiring of apprentices within government departments and agencies.

As a participating organization, NL Housing received funding from the Department of Education in November 2007 to hire 11 apprentices. Housing provided additional funds to the program and since that time, the number of apprentices now on staff has grown from 11 to 18 in five of our seven regional offices throughout the Province.

Based on the types of Journeyperson Qualifications held by employees, NL Housing has been able to offer apprenticeships in the areas of Construction Electrical, Plumbing, and Carpentry throughout the Province.

At the present time, NL Housing has its full complement of Apprentices. Should a plumbing, electrical or carpentry apprentice wish to be considered for future opportunities, a resume outlining qualifications and experience should be forwarded to resumes@nlhc.nl.ca.
