Roofing Repairs in Corner Brook Complete
Last year, Tech Construction Ltd was awarded a $411,000 contract by
NLHC
to start a roof replacement program for 43 duplex, bungalow-style units
in the Oakes subdivision of Corner Brook. Recently, Tech Construction
Ltd.
was awarded a $35,000 contract to complete roofing repairs to this
subdivision.
The $35,000 contract now concludes the roof replacement program. The
announcement
was made today by Oliver Langdon, Minster responsible for Newfoundland
and Labrador Housing Corporation (NLHC).
Earlier this year, Tech Construction Ltd. also completed
roofing on
20, Oakes II two-storey units valued at $78,000. In addition, NLHC
personnel
from the Corner Brook regional office are currently completing
modernization
and improvement work on four units at Oakes II. This work includes
window,
siding and door replacement, and minor repairs on roofs and landings at
an estimated cost of $66,000.
"The roof replacement program is part of the corporation's
on-going
commitment to extend the life of its housing properties," said Minister
Langdon. "This expenditure and others like it enhance the value of
public
housing within the community and assists in providing much-needed
economic
stimulus throughout the province."
