Adult students awarded NLHC scholarships
Three Newfoundland and
Labrador Housing Corporation (NLHC) adult tenants have been awarded
scholarships to financially assist them in continuing their
post-secondary education. Each year, NLHC provides scholarships valued
at $1,000 to adult tenants in the Avalon/Eastern, Central and
Western/Labrador regions of the province. The Honourable Paul Shelley,
Minister of Human Resources, Labour and Employment and minister
responsible for NLHC, today announced the recipients of the 2006 Adult
Scholarship Program.
"As an adult, making the
decision to return to school takes courage and dedication," said
Minister Shelley. "I applaud the commitment shown by these three
scholarship recipients in pursuing their academic goals and wish them
every success in their respective program of study."
