Jamie Korab, born and raised in Harbour Grace, Newfoundland and Labrador, has dedicated his life to public service, sports, and community leadership. After completing his secondary education in his hometown, Jamie moved to St. John’s in 1999 to pursue higher education.
Before entering provincial politics, Jamie made significant contributions to his community as the Ward 3 Councillor for the City of St. John’s, a role he held for seven years. Jamie’s political journey took a notable turn when he was elected as the Member of the House of Assembly for Waterford Valley on August 22, 2024.
Beyond his political and community service, Jamie is celebrated for his achievements in sports. He is a proud Olympic gold medalist in Men’s Curling from the 2006 Winter Olympics. His contributions to his home province have also been honored with the Order of Newfoundland & Labrador, and he received an honorary law degree from Memorial University, recognizing his impact and leadership.
Jamie’s professional background includes a successful 12-year career as an award-winning Realtor. He currently resides in St. John’s with his wife, Stephanie, and their two daughters.
Since May of 2025, he has served as Minister of Families and Affordability, Minister Responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities, and Minister Responsible for the Community Sector.
On August 15, 2025, he was sworn in as Minister of Seniors and Minister Responsible for the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation.
